Find Out If Cosmetic Dentistry is Right For Your Smile!

Why People Love Windermere Dentistry

Shami Sharma
Dr. McKissock and everyone in the Windermere Dentistry office are amazing. I have been going there for over 13 years. I usually only go in for routine cleanings and x-rays every 6 months. The service is incredible and I'm in and out in less than 45 minutes. There's hardly any wait time to start. Last week I chipped a tooth. I panicked but the office was able to squeeze me in on the same day. 30 mins later I walked out as if nothing had happened. Amazing!! Friendly staff and thorough and efficient dentists.

Dr. McKissock is the most talented, knowledgable, precise and skillful dentists I have ever been to. He and his staff are professional, courteous and work well with Dr McKissock through any dental procedure. When I was new to town I was overwhelmed since I have had a lot of dental work done. I am so fortunate to have found this practice 8 years ago and wouldn't trust anyone else.

You will not find a better dentist than Dr. McKissick. I first came to him years ago with a problem that my former dentist ignored for years. Dr. McKissock picked it up in the first minute of my visit and sent me to an oral surgeon. He saved me from permanent damage and severe issues. Since then, he has been kind and knowledgable during every visit. He is incredible with an amazing personality. He truly cares about his patients. I only have glowing things to say about this office. Special shoutout to Linda and Rosemary who are always wonderful.

I've been with Dr McKissock for 20 years. When I started I had a lot of problems I was ignoring. He created a treatment plan, Linda helped me set up the best insurance and worked with me on billing. Within a few years my teeth were in great shape. Ever since, I go twice a year for cleanings and check-ups, and there's been very little work needed over the past 15 years. There's very few businesses left that I trust more than Windermere Dentistry.

When I moved here 10 years ago, it took me a while to find a dental practice that I was comfortable with….until I came here. Dr. McKissock and his staff made me realize I found the right place. Professional, friendly, quality service combined with friendly, clean, modern office….what more could I ask for!!!

It took me awhile to find a really great dental practice in the area. I did a lot of research and have been very happy going to this practice. My first visit was from an unexpected cracked tooth which was treated immediately and put on a path to replace it overtime. They have been wonderful during the last 2 years and now I have excellent check ups too! I don’t worry about going to the Dentist anymore either!

I have been a patient for many years and the quality of care is the best. This is one of the few dentist offices which offer 3D crown fitting. It is wonderful to go in, have all the crown prep, wait an hour or so and have a custom computer fitted crown inserted and be done. No more temporary crowns or ill fitting crowns that need constant adjustment. Perfect crowns every time and I've had 4 done here. Check ups are very thorough and the hygienists are diligent in complete cleaning. I travel an hour to come to this practice and it is worth it.

The absolute BEST dentist there ever was! After years of horrible experiences and torturous dental visits I finally found Dr McKissock! Not only does he have a beautiful and luxurious office where you can watch TV while laying down in the chair, but he creates a very stress free and comfortable environment. He is quick and precise and does everything he can to ensure the least amount of discomfort. I am so grateful to have found this dentist and will never have to worry about horrible dental visits again!

I’ve gone to Dr. McKissock since we moved to Florida back in 2001. My entire family has loved his service and office staff. From the office manager Linda, to the hygienists and to Dr. McKissock, they treat you like family and they accommodate all of our dental needs. Our family has moved a number of times and with each move we have ended up further away from the office, but we are committed to continuing our relationship with Windermere Dentistry because it is that great and well worth the little bit of an extra drive.

So professional, the entire team is very nice and Dr. McKissock is wonderful. Kind, patient, gentle, not pushy and very precise in his diagnostic and treatment plan. The environment is very pleasant, clean and inviting… Yes… inviting :) I have been a patient for 11 years and, so has my husband and just switched my teenager to this office too!

What Veneers Can Do for You

Veneers are thin, custom-crafted shells bonded to the front of your teeth. They instantly improve the color, shape, and alignment of your smile while protecting the natural tooth underneath.

We offer three veneer options, each designed for different goals and preferences:

Porcelain Veneers

Durable and stain-resistant, porcelain veneers provide a natural translucency and are ideal for long-term smile transformations. They’re known for their strength, making them a great option for everyday function.

eMax Veneers

Made from high-quality lithium disilicate ceramic, eMax veneers offer added strength with a thinner, more lightweight feel. They blend beautifully with your natural teeth and require less enamel removal.

Composite Veneers

A more affordable option, composite veneers are sculpted directly onto the tooth in a single visit. They’re a great choice for minor cosmetic fixes, though they may need more maintenance over time.

Are Veneers Right for You? Here's How to Know

Veneers are a great option for many people looking to enhance their smile, but they’re not one-size-fits-all. Here’s how to know if you’re a strong candidate:

You may be a good fit for veneers if:

  • You have healthy teeth and gums with no active decay or gum disease
  • You’re looking to improve the cosmetic appearance of your smile
  • You have teeth that are stained, chipped, worn, or uneven
  • You don’t clench or grind your teeth excessively (or you’re open to using a night guard)
  • You want a solution that offers long-lasting, natural-looking results

Veneers are not ideal for patients with untreated dental issues or those looking for a purely functional solution to tooth loss. But for patients with cosmetic concerns and healthy underlying teeth, veneers can be life-changing.

Getting Veneers at Windermere Dentistry

We know cosmetic dental work can feel like a big decision, especially when it involves changing your smile. That’s why we guide you through a supportive, step-by-step process that’s built around comfort, clarity, and your personal goals.

Here’s what your veneer journey looks like:

Step 1

Consultation & Smile Design

Your first visit is all about you. We’ll start by learning about your goals, what you’d like to improve, and how you want your smile to look. We’ll take digital photos and imaging to evaluate your current smile and facial features.

From there, we’ll create a custom treatment plan that maps out your ideal result—balancing aesthetics, comfort, and function. This plan acts as a blueprint for the smile you’ve been envisioning.

Step 2

Tooth Preparation & Impressions

Once you’re ready to move forward, we’ll carefully prepare the surface of your teeth by removing a minimal amount of enamel. This allows the veneers to bond securely and sit naturally alongside your other teeth.

We then take precise digital or physical impressions to ensure your veneers are custom-fit to your smile, not too thick, too bright, or too uniform. This attention to detail is what makes the final result feel natural and seamless.

Step 3

Temporary Veneers

While your permanent veneers are being crafted in the lab, we’ll place temporary ones to protect your teeth and give you a preview of your new smile. You’ll have time to adjust to the feel, provide feedback, and request minor refinements if needed.

This stage also allows us to evaluate how the veneers function during speaking, chewing, and smiling, so your final set feels just right.

Step 4

Final Veneer Placement

Once your custom veneers are ready, you’ll return for the exciting part: your smile transformation. We’ll bond each veneer with precision, check your bite, and make final adjustments to ensure they feel completely natural.

Before you leave, we’ll go over how to care for your veneers, what to expect as you adjust, and when to come in for checkups to keep everything looking and feeling its best.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I take care of veneers at home?

Caring for veneers is easy. Brush and floss daily, avoid using your teeth as tools, and come in for regular checkups and cleanings. With proper care, your veneers will stay strong and beautiful for many years.

Who is a good candidate for veneers?

You may be a good candidate for veneers if you have healthy teeth and gums and want to correct cosmetic concerns like discoloration, chips, gaps, or uneven teeth. We’ll evaluate your oral health and goals during your consultation to ensure veneers are the right fit for you.

Are veneers covered by dental insurance?

Since veneers are a cosmetic dental procedure, most insurance plans do not cover them. However, at Windermere Dentistry, we offer flexible financing options to help make your treatment affordable and stress-free.

Do porcelain veneers stain over time?

Porcelain veneers are highly resistant to stains, especially compared to natural teeth. However, it’s still a good idea to limit dark-colored beverages like coffee, tea, or red wine, and to maintain good oral hygiene to keep your whole smile looking its best.

Can I eat normally with veneers?

Yes, you can eat most of your favorite foods with veneers. We recommend avoiding very hard or sticky foods that could damage your veneers over time, but overall, they’re designed to function just like natural teeth.

How many dental appointments do veneers require?

Veneers typically require two to three dental visits. The first is your consultation and smile design. The second includes tooth preparation and temporary veneers, and the third is for bonding your final veneers. We’ll guide you through each step so you know exactly what to expect.

Is getting veneers painful?

Most patients find the process comfortable and low-stress. We use local anesthesia during tooth preparation to keep you relaxed and pain-free. After the procedure, you may experience mild sensitivity, which usually fades quickly.

Do veneers look natural?

Absolutely. Our custom-made veneers are designed to match your natural teeth in shape, color, and translucency. We work closely with you to ensure your veneers blend seamlessly into your smile, so they enhance your appearance without looking artificial.

Are veneers permanent?

Yes, veneers are considered a permanent cosmetic dental treatment. To place them, we remove a small amount of enamel from the front of your teeth, which means the process cannot be reversed. However, with good care, veneers can offer long-lasting results.

How long do dental veneers last?

With proper care, porcelain veneers typically last 10 to 15 years or more. Their durability depends on your oral hygiene, lifestyle habits, and regular dental visits. We’ll provide tips to help you extend the lifespan of your veneers.
